Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings, the emotions recollected in tranquility and there can be no place more tranquil than nature’s lap. Right from the time of the golden period of English poetry, the Romantic Era, the fathers of romanticism, Wordsworth, Byron, Keats have resorted to poetry to find expression of their emotional connect with nature and this time it was the budding poets of Whitefield Global School who have promised to tread the path of their forefathers of English poetry. On 23rd of June WGS hosted an inter-house seminar on poetry, Kavi Sammelan, for classes 5-8, the theme being Mother Nature. The children or rather poets exhibited their thoughts on nature in the form of poetry written in different languages, Hindi, English and Kannada. The children in the audience were great supporters appreciating the wonderful talent displayed by the participants and, at the same time, cheering for their houses. WGS has always been known for its contribution in the field of sports but this time, the school has put its first step to produce not only sportsmen but also poets of future.
