We Care Club
As part of We care club students at WGS learn about caring for the environment in different ways and what better way to understand what happens to our garbage than through the hands-on experience of composting! Students can not only learn about how waste can be turned into a rich soil, but also the related environmental concerns. Students understood the need to have a balance of ‘green waste’, e.g items that are fresh, moist, rich in nitrogen and collected vegetable waste from school canteen. ‘Brown waste’ is collected from the school ground. The compost will work best if we have an equal mix of both green and brown waste. With great enthusiasm students found earthworms from damp soil and layered green and brown waste along with moisture in bin.
