CCA Event- Mera Bharath Mahaan- Garde I and II
“The hand of a craftsman engaged in his craft is always pure. It wasn’t an architect or a designer who invented crafts, but an artisan”.
We all know that; India is a combination of multiple worlds. The world of India’s crafts person’s spans millennia and spreads across the length and breadth of our rich land, which is apparently observed in states, cities, towns and in our beautiful villages. To let children, know more about these artisans of India, we conducted an event called “Mera Bharath Mahan” on 12th November 2021 as part of CCA for the students of Grade I and II.
Keeping the artisans in mind, the students were expected to present an advertisement featuring any treasure of India like bidriware of Karnataka, thanjavur dolls of Tamil Nadu, terracotta works of Assam, dhokra and bamboo work of Chhattisgarh, sankheda furniture of Gujarat, coconut shell craft of Kerala, kolhapuri chappal of Maharashtra etc. Students were encouraged to use creative methods to advertise these treasures in Hindi, Kannada or English.
The participants presented their immaculate work by making/presenting colourful and mesmerizing craft works.
The event was a true learning experience for everyone where each child took home an inspiration, thus keeping the works of our artisans alive in everyone’s mind through their creative presentations.
