Let us embark on the task of celebrating excellence in co-curricular activities. We, at WGS, give as much importance to achievements in co-curricular activities as to achievements in academics. Co-curricular activities and sports facilitate the development of various domains of mind and personality like intellectual, emotional, social, moral and aesthetic. The creativity, enthusiasm, energy, positive thinking are some of the facets of personality development and the outcomes of extracurricular activities. We believe in the overall development of the child as children learn through exploration. In this academic year we conducted many co-curricular activities to give children an opportunity to showcase their talents and express their emotions through story telling with puppets, thematic picture storytelling, quiz, mathemania, poem recitation, Poster in tux painting, role play, class magazine, monologue, thematic picture story writing in second language, etc. Sports hold a mirror to life and hence play an important role in a child’s development. The child learns how to handle success and bear failure in life through sports. It teaches them focus, determination, concentration and sportsmanship. An array of races were organized on the Sports day like 30-metre dash, 4*30-metre relay, arranging the cones, formula 1 race, sack race, soccer hoopla etc. The children participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The whole year’s planning and execution ended on 01/03/2018 when children were awarded with books, medals and certificates. It was a proud moment for Winning House celebrated with loads of cheers and accolades. Thanks to the parents as always!!
