Yet another show of excellence was portrayed by our children on 16 November 2019 when they had a cooking camp in the school premises. Children of grade IX to XI participated in this camp. The preparation included planning, budgeting and shopping. The camp started at 2 pm and our young chefs started working with the help of teachers right from cutting vegetables, boiling milk, cooking rice to frying balls. It is said that history repeats itself. This is true as these young hands worked on traditional stoves (Chulha) to cook food.
The end result was a surprise as there was a wonderful platter comprising starters like pani puri, vadas, paneer skewers and vegetable manchurian; main dishes like vegetable pulav, biryani, rolls, rice, poori pasta and noodles. The much awaited mouthwatering desserts were custard, falooda, bread rasgulla and mousse. After the hard work of preparing the food the children shook off all their tiredness by dancing to foot tapping music. The children were enthralled when their parents were invited to relish their dishes. The best teams were also recognised. It was indeed a very good experience for all children and they wish to continue to participate in such events year after year.
