International Mother Language Day is a moment for all of us to raise the flag for the importance of mother tongue to all educational efforts, to enhance the quality of learning, and to reach the unreached. With this beautiful thought, International Mother Language Day was celebrated in WGS on February 10th2021, in the virtual model. Kevin of 2nd Fire welcomed the gathering with a beautiful smile and positive attitude. The assembly started with the school prayer, rendered beautifully by the choir. The prayer was followed by a beautiful thought which was shared by Anshi Sahoo of Grade 1st Dew. Ryan Chandy of 2nd Rainbow enhanced our vocabulary by adding a new word to our WGS dictionary. Aashna Dash from 2nd Water and Anagha Murthy from 2nd Sky updated us with National news and WGS news. Anjali V from 1st Air spoke about the reason for celebrating and respecting Mother Language. Dhruv from 2nd Earth added more color to the assembly by speaking about “Vasant Panchami” or Saraswati pooja. Payal and Krish from 2nd Air and Anya Saxena from 2nd Earth spoke about the significance of celebrating Vasant Panchami in different languages. They spoke in Kannada, Sanskrit, and Hindi respectively. Ms. Supriti Das shared her words of wisdom about the theme. The assembly ended with the National anthem.
