What can a pencil do for all of us?
Amazing things: It can write transcendent poetry, uplifting music, or life-changing equations; it can sketch the future, give life to untold beauty, and communicate the full-force of our love and aspirations – Adam Braun.
We at WGS believe that art encompasses values and ideas, and helps enlighten one with what the imagination is capable of without minimizing thought and the power of creation. It is a natural means of communication and learning for children. To make children aware that communication is not always verbal and there are different ways to express and communicate with the world, the Primary wing of WGS organized a CCA Inter House Sketch and Expression competition on 03/09/19 (Tuesday) for Grades 3, 4 and 5, and on 06/09/19 (Friday) for Grades 1 and 2.
Children sketched their thoughts and imaginations on the given topics of We Care – Our Festivals for Grades 1, 2 and 3, We Care- My Dream World for grade 4 and We Care – Global Warming for grade 5. Children also expressed their sketches in 60-100 words within the time frame of 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The participants gave vent to their imagination and aesthetic side, creating magical sketches and expressions. Children gave a tough time to our judges Ms. Vidya Joshi and Ms Garima Kudeshiya for Grades 3, 4 & 5 and Ms. Sangeeta Mahesh for Grades 1 &2, who were overwhelmed on seeing the sketches. The sketches were judged on various parameters like creativity in sketching, expression of the theme, overall presentation, time management, etc.
Indeed, the competition was a showcase of art exploding from every piece of sketch.
Whoever the winner may be, the budding painters of WGS won every heart with their art which makes everyone a winner.
