Respect is the basic virtue that drives so many choices, both attitudes and actions. At Whitefield Global School, students of Emerald House of the Upper Primary Segment presented an assembly to emphasise the importance of our Assembly theme, ‘Respect.’ The hosts were Kenisha and Kajal. A new day begins with a new thought, new strength and endless possibilities. So to enlighten us Gauranshi shared the thought for the day where as Anveeka added a new word to our WGS dictionary. A beautiful poem was recited by Krithika. Book is a window to the world. Giving books away to those who read is like giving them the world. It makes their world happier and healthier. To celebrate the ‘International Book Giving Day,’ students gave their favourite books to their friends to read. Ms. Shyba Dhar, spoke about the importance of reading and how books should be chosen wisely and embraced as companions. Emerald House Mistress, Ms Aswathy spoke about showing respect to oneself and being thoughtful of others, especially elders. Treating others in a fair and justified manner brings a lot of joy to everyone. Every human being, of whatever origin, of whatever station, deserves respect. We must respect each other, even as we respect ourselves.
