'Books are more than just a gateway to reading; they are powerful tools that shape young minds, develop critical thinking strategies, and ignite creativity. Our recent Book Club session on the 26th of July was a vibrant celebration of these possibilities for our Grade 1 and 2 students.'
Grade 1 students dived into the whimsical worlds of "Kaakaasaurus" and "A New View," where they not only sequenced the stories' events but also brought them to life through energetic role-play. The room echoed with laughter as they embodied characters, turning the classroom into a stage of imagination. Meanwhile, our Grade 2 students embraced the story "A Camel for Kelam" with equal enthusiasm, transforming into characters to retell the tale through role-playing. They also showcased their analytical skills by creating a detailed roadmap for the story "Tiger in the Traffic." Through these activities, students explored new concepts such as the mystery of a crow transforming into a dinosaur, the significance of Kelam’s special gift, the quirks of an auto-rickshaw, and the wonder of discovering new perspectives through photography. This session not only enriched their reading experience but also enhanced their understanding of the world around them, all while having a great deal of fun!
