Whitefield Global School is proud to launch The Adolescent Peer Educator’s leadership program in Life skills, Holistic Health & Wellbeing by CBSE & Expressions India.
The program aims to empower the Life Skills and Wellbeing Ambassadors and to enrich the climate for Healthy and Happy Schools.
The rationale of such an initiative is to equip and enable students to play a vital role in enriching Life Skills, Holistic Health and the well-being of its students. It is considered that the voice and opinion of students as change-makers are to be facilitated for a progressive world of tomorrow. From developing core life skills to the journey of embellishing 21st-century skills, the schooling years should help in building resilience, mental well-being and multifaceted well-rounded personality of students.
This year's theme of WGS is Resilience and selected Peer Educators from grades VI to XII are trained to facilitate their peers to teach the various themes of resilience throughout this year.
Grade IX Peer Educators Ahana Sharma, Aniketh, Bhavna T, D Madhuvanthi, T Rakshith Kumar, and Keshav Pillai launched the program. The session on the topic Courage to be Yourself was conducted for grade IX students on 07th June 2022.
The objectives were to encourage students to be themselves and accept the way they are which would help in increasing students' confidence.
Peer Educators have conducted surveys to understand their grade IX peer's confidence, the influence of negative comments and courage to be their true selves. Based on the response peer educators explained the importance of self-awareness, understanding one’s weaknesses and strengths, the significance to be aware of the influence of social media and identifying the difference between constructive criticism and passing comments.
The program was an interactive session. Peer educators and their peers shared their personal experiences making the program indeed relatable and easy to understand the concept.
The program was concluded by encouraging and reminding each student to have the courage to accept themselves and gain confidence by exploring one’s strengths and weaknesses.
