Your talent determines what you can do, your motivation determines how much you are willing to do; your attitude determines how well you do it. – Lou Hotlz.
With this beautiful thought the talented students of Primary and Upper primary participated in the Swachh Whitefield – Painting and Collage making competition organised by Rotary Bangalore Whitefield Central (RBWC) in association with Inorbit mall.
The theme for the competition was Swachh Whitefield. The two-day event was well conceptualized and organised by Rotary club and Inorbit mall. It was a very good learning experience for the children in understanding various methods to stop usage of plastics which is affecting the environment.
The students of Grade 2 and 3 participated in the Painting competition organised on 19th January and beautifully expressed their thoughts through their paintings. The paintings depicted the ways we should stop using plastics, segregate waste, reduce pollution, use car pooling etc. The event has definitely created a lot of awareness about the effects of usage of plastic and the simple ways to reduce it. The children were thrilled to be a part of a session by Dr. D B Naik, Head of Electron and Reactor chemistry, BARC, Mumbai, who demonstrated how a thermocol can be reused for making artefacts and share its benefits.
The students of Grade 4 and 5 participated in Collage making competition organised on 13th January and creatively expressed their thoughts in the form of Collage. The collages made by the children clearly showcased their desire to have a clean and green Whitefield for the future.
Poorthika of Grade 4 won the 1st prize, Suhaani of Grade 5 won the 2nd prize in the Collage making competition.
The President of Rotary Bangalore Whitefield Central (RBWC), Rtn. S Chandrasekaran, Vice- President Rtn. Manoj Kabre and other distinguished members of RBWC felicitated the winners. It was a very joyful moment for our children to receive the award in the presence of our beloved Sarada ma’am.
