'In the third and fourth weeks of July, our Grade 1 and 2 students truly lived up to Nelson Mandela's words: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Their curiosity and enthusiasm were the driving forces behind their learning experiences.'
Environmental Science (EVS): Our first graders embarked on a journey to discover the fascinating world of plants, eagerly discussing and explaining the various parts. Meanwhile, our second graders delved into the "Explore Trash" activity, where they explored and shared the significance of animal products in our daily lives. They carefully sorted animals based on the resources they provide, such as food, silk, wool, and leather, and discussed the importance of domestic animals in our world. Kannada: In Kannada, our young linguists expanded their knowledge of vowel and consonant syllables. They practiced reading, mastered double consonants, and enriched their vocabulary. The students also delved into the world of "bannada hakki" (colourful birds), enhancing their understanding of colours and rhyming words. Additionally, they explored the concept of bird extinction by collecting images of species that have sadly disappeared. Mathematics: In Math, our students engaged in an interactive number line activity that made the concepts of addition and subtraction come alive. By using forward and backward counting, they were able to clearly differentiate between the two operations, strengthening their mathematical foundations. English: English lessons focused on phonemic awareness and vocabulary building. The students had a great time recognizing and creating rhyming words, which not only improved their reading and listening skills but also sparked their interest in exploring sounds and words with great enthusiasm.
