The Grade 8 Coffee Connect session, led by Principal Dr. Sita Shankar with a welcome address given by our Middle School Coordinator Ms. Sanjara Khan, focused on strengthening adolescent well-being through healthy sleep habits, balanced nutrition, consistent routines, and open parent–school dialogue on students’ daily needs.
Dr. Sita Shankar highlighted the impact of late-night screen use, irregular sleep schedules, and skipped meals on learners’ stamina, emotional balance, and academic focus, recommending 8–10 hours of sleep, nutritious home-cooked meals, and predictable routines. Parents also suggested introducing a short Quiet/Reflection Time in school, which was well received.
A key part of the conversation focused on how parental work timings influence children’s study and sleep patterns, reinforcing the importance of family routines and shared time. The dialogue further touched upon digital responsibility, financial awareness, peer pressure, and the need for student-focused guidance sessions.
The session concluded with a shared commitment from both parents and the school to nurture Grade 8 learners’ holistic health, emotional well-being, and self-discipline - ensuring they grow with balance, confidence, and resilience.
