The Coffee Connect session for Grade 6 parents was led by Principal Ma'am Dr. Sita Shankar with a welcome by Ms. Sanjara Khan (Middle School Coordinator), focused on developing effective study habits and supporting learners as they transition to middle school.
The discussion highlighted structured routines, time management, and balancing academics with leisure. A parent poll showed that most students study 1–2 hours daily, emphasizing quality over quantity.
Key topics included AI usage, digital discipline, email basics, data privacy, and responsible online behaviour. Parents also shared academic concerns in Math, Science, Kannada, and requested more mental math and grammar practice.
Dr. Sita Shankar introduced strategies like regular speaking practice, watching movies with subtitles, cross-language buddying, the Pegging Method, and the 1-4-7 revision cycle to improve retention. The session also addressed emotional well-being through the Heart & Mind Program.
Parents suggested weekend worksheets and raised SST exam pattern concerns, which the school will review. The session concluded with appreciation for parent participation and the importance of a strong parent–school partnership.
