'Promoting Safe Use of the Internet, Gadgets, and Media: July's School Health & Wellness Program'
In July, students from Grades I to X participated in a series of activities under the School Health & Wellness Program, focusing on the theme of "Promoting Safe Uses of the Internet, Gadgets, and Media." These activities were integrated into Life Skills and Mental Health classes, aiming to enhance students' awareness and practice of online safety.
Grade 1: High Five Rules for Screen Time Management Students learned the "High Five Rules" for managing screen time. This activity helped them understand the importance of balancing screen time with other activities and committing to healthy screen habits. Grade 2: Digital Footprint Poster Making Students created posters that illustrated their understanding of digital footprints. Through this creative activity, they expressed the importance of being mindful about the information they share online. Grade 3: Internet Safety and Awareness Mind Map Students designed mind maps to highlight key points about internet safety, such as verifying online information and being cautious about sharing personal details. Grade 4: Code Crusader Comic Strip Through a comic strip activity, students explored both the benefits and potential risks of technology, learning to navigate the digital world more safely. Grade 5: Online Safety Roleplay Students participated in roleplays where they identified various online risks and practiced implementing appropriate safety measures. Grade 6: Protecting Yourself in the Digital World Posters Students created posters to demonstrate their commitment to safe online behaviors, reinforcing their sense of responsibility for their own digital safety. Grade 7: Cyber Safe Escape Station Activity In a station-based activity, students enhanced their decision-making and critical-thinking skills by reflecting on essential online safety measures. Grade 8: Case Analysis Quiz Students analyzed scenarios related to online safety and participated in quizzes that helped improve their ability to evaluate online etiquette and responsibility for their digital footprints. Grades IX & X: Showcasing Cyber Wisdom Senior students creatively expressed precautionary measures for safe use of social media and digital platforms.
