'Promoting Safety and Inclusivity: June Student Talks at Whitefield Global School'

In June, our School Health and Wellness Program hosted student talks to raise awareness on the theme "Safety and Security Against Violence and Injuries," empowering students with essential knowledge and proactive strategies.
Primary Segment: Road Safety Awareness On June 13, 2024, our Primary and Upper Primary segments hosted the School Health and Wellness Student Assembly. Thanish from II Fire and Aadhritha from II Air delivered a compelling speech on "Road Safety." They highlighted the importance of obeying traffic signals, using pedestrian crossings, and wearing helmets. Thanish emphasized waiting for the green light before crossing streets, while Aadhritha discussed how helmets can prevent serious head injuries. Their impactful messages encouraged students to adopt these crucial safety practices in their daily lives. Upper Primary Segment: Stranger Safety Skit In the Upper Primary segment, students Shin Chana, Joshua, Vivaan, and Divita from Grade IV Sky presented an engaging skit titled “Staying Safe: Think Before You Act and Follow Stranger Safety Rules.” The skit depicted a scenario where two girls learned the importance of staying cautious around strangers. The performance concluded with a strong message: “It's better to be safe than sorry,” reinforcing the importance of listening to parents and being aware of Stranger Danger. Middle Segment: Acts of Kindness On June 11, 2024, our Middle and Senior segments hosted student talk events. Sneha Kamat from VII Air delivered a speech titled “Acts of Kindness: Strengthening Bonds of Friendship.” She highlighted the importance of kindness in daily interactions and urged students to adopt practical strategies for fostering kindness, support, and empathy within their school community. Sneha encouraged her peers to recognize their potential to positively impact others through their words and actions, thereby contributing to a more inclusive and supportive environment. Senior Segment: Creating an Inclusive Environment In the Senior segment, Saharsh P from X Fire delivered a talk titled "From Exclusion to Empowerment: Creating an Inclusive Environment and Addressing Discrimination." He emphasized the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in academics and beyond, encouraging self-belief and change from within. Saharsh urged participants to share personal experiences and anecdotes on discrimination and inclusivity to illustrate their impact, fostering a deeper understanding of inclusivity and inspiring proactive efforts toward creating a more inclusive community.Stay tuned for more updates on our school activities and events.
